D. originally formed in 2003 with Asagi, Ruiza, Hiroki,Sin on guitar and Lena on bass. Shortly after they released their first album, Ruiza got sick and the band went on hiatus for a bit. Sin left the band, and Asagi and Hiroki kept doing concerts under a different name. Ruiza got out of the hospital and the band picked up again, using Hide-Zou, who was a session guitarist at the time. Lena left the band in 2005, and Tsunehito joined as the permanent bassist. The band put out 7 studio albums, the last of which was released in January of 2011. The name of that album is "Vampire Saga." Their sound is that of traditional Japanese sounds, operatic vocals and instruments, along with heavy guitars and fast paced melodies. Their look is what I call "Cultural Japanese Goth." I won't keep going on about it..I'll let you see for yourself.

There you have it. D. is a band with longevity and will continue to go hard and strong. Asagi's vocals are amazing and the band meshes together seamlessly. The whole Gothic aesthetic appeals to me greatly! They have garnered love and respect from all over the globe. The band has just returned from an European tour and is slated to go back out for a South American tour at the end of the month. This is no doubt one of my top 5 bands. I did say I was going to post a listing of that soon, didn't I?
Sayonara until next time!
